KIA Motors increase the price of locally assembled Sportage

KIA increases the prices of its much awaited locally assembled KIA Sportage ahead of its launch. The price has been increased for both variants –Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and All Wheel Drive (AWD). The new price for FWD variant is Rs. 4,899,000 and AWD is Rs. 5,399,000 respectively (X-Factory prices), While booking can be done by paying an advance payment of Rs. 1,700,000 for (AWD) model and Rs. 1,900,000 for (FWD) model and delivery date has been given by the end of August 2019.

Last month, Automark reported to you that Kia Lucky Motors has started taking booking order for the Sportage SUV, the local assembling of which is set to begin in August. The bookings for the both models of Sportage can be done at any Kia showrooms by paying an initial payment of Rs 1,500,000.

Initially, the Sportage FWD (Front Wheel Drive) was placed with the price tag of Rs. 4,599,000 and AWD (All Wheel Drive) model price tag of Rs. 4,999,999 (X-Factory prices.) But, now due to rupee devaluation and after booking some orders, the company has increased the price both units. The assembler has already told that these prices are for introductory units and after the unknown specific (few) orders, the final price may go up a 2-3 Lakh for each respected variant.

The Kia Sportage is powered by a Nu 2.0L Gasoline MPI engine that comes paired with 6-speed Automatic Transmission with SportMatic as standard. The Sportage also comes rich in standard equipment which includes Driver & Passenger Airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Downhill Brake Control, Hill-Start Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Management, ISO Fix Child Anchorage, ABS, Panoramic Sunroof, 7″ Infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with Bluetooth, Audio/Call, Voice Recognition, Cruise Control, Electric Parking Brake, Engine Immobilizer and Rain Sensors etc.

The country’s only Korean car assembler plans to start booking of the local assembled 1000cc Picanto, five-seater passenger car in August-2019.
