Russian bus maker is willing to open an assembly plant in Pakistan

Bakulin Motors Group Holding, a Russian bus maker has shown an interest to build an assembly plant in Pakistan to meet the requirements of the buses in Pakistan. Russian manufacturer has given an offer to the Pakistani government that it has an intention to develop a modern state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Pakistan with an aim to build advanced and high tech buses.
According to media reports, a letter was sent to the ministry in which the Russian company stated that they are willing to start a joint venture and partnerships with Pakistani companies in order to develop new bus assembly plant. The Vice President of the Sales and Marketing of the company stated that they are willing to visit Pakistan or invite Pakistanis to visit their assembly plant production in Russia.
In a letter sent to the ministry, the company said, “Nowadays, the company produces a wide range of buses including various classes, urban, suburban, intercity and tourist destination that can be equipped by diesel, gas or electric engine. It said that it has two modern plants with the production capacity of 5000 buses per year”.
The letter further stated that “The Company would like to offer Pakistan to consider a possibility of a partnership between our companies in the sphere of the city and intercity passenger transportation. We are ready to discuss various types of cooperation, including bus procurement and creating a joint production in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
Bakulin Motors Group Holding produces different vehicles in Russia including buses and autonomous cars.
In Pakistan, the auto policy 2016-21 has attracted different automakers including Korean, Chinese, Japanese and French. Now it has to be seen whether the Pakistani government will accept Russian company’s offer or not.
